EcoShare Conference
The conference will focus on the important role of trees in environmental sustainability, and will feature three blocks of programs.
First block
The first block will explore the impact of trees on microclimates. Presentations will cover the cooling functions of trees, including their role in mitigating urban heat islands. Attendees will also learn about how trees absorb dust components and mitigate noise pollution, making them a valuable asset in urban environments.
First block
Second block
The second block will examine the relationship between trees and biodiversity. Experts will discuss the creation of tree habitats and the veteranization of trees, as well as the care of veteran and ancient trees. Attendees will also learn about the support of xylophagous organisms, which play a critical role in forest ecosystems.
Third block
In the final block, attendees will explore the carbon storage capabilities of non-forest trees. Presentations will focus on the use of trees as a carbon offset and the replacement of mature trees by new plantings. These topics are essential to understanding the role of trees in mitigating climate change.
Third block
On 7th and 8th June 2023
Before the conference
There will be a professional excursion to thematically interesting areas in Bohemia. The excursion will focus on areas with significant trees, including veteranization projects and the care of veteran trees. Attendees will also learn about successful projects in blue-green infrastructure creation, providing valuable insight into sustainable urban development.

Development of Digital
Forms of Learning and New Certification Programs in the Field of Arboriculture and Urban
Forestry at the SE Europe Level
We are proud to announce the beginning of our new project titled Development of Digital Forms of Learning and New Certification Programs in the Field of Arboriculture and Urban Forestry at the SE Europe Level, co-funded by the European Union program Erasmus+, Key Action 2: Cooperation Partnership. The project duration is 24 months. It is implemented in collaboration of three organizations, project coordinator, Urbani šumari d.o.o. (Croatia), and two partner organizations, Český svaz ochránců přírody Arboristická akademie (Czech Republic) and European Arboricultural Council (Germany). The project lump sum is EUR 250.000,00.
The project has several objectives with the two of the most important being: 1) To contribute to the process of digitalization and digital transformation of vocational education and training in the field of arboriculture and urban forestry through the establishment of a virtual certification center; and 2) To adapt the existing vocational education and training programs for the European Tree Worker profession for the SE Europe area; thus, achieving a positive and long-lasting effect of organizations and institutions that provide trainings in the field of arboriculture
The project is currently underway; several activities have been conducted, and we are looking forward to those in the upcoming months.
